Kosovo

Big mistake! We, meaning the US, have now recognized Kosovo’s independence from Serbia despite the 1999 UN agreement to respect Serbia’s territorial integrity. Now the Serbs hate us and even though the ethnic Albanian, and mostly Muslim, Kosovars think we are the best right now how long will it be until they decide that we too are “infidels” and deserving of death? It won’t be long I assure you because there is a significant Al Qaida presence there. Add to that the highest unemployment rate in Europe and if that isn’t an explosive mixture I don’t know what is. The thought of the majority of the Kosovars being dependent on radical Muslim, meaning Saudi, charity is the stuff of nightmares. Can you say terrorism central right in the belly of Europe? And, now the Kosovars have their own minority. Yes the Serbs that are left there. It is only a matter of time until they start killing each other again. I don’t think Serbia will stand by and see their own submitted to genocide.

The Russians are threatening to get involved and lest we forget, Russia has gone to war several times to protect their friends in the Balkans. The latest and most disastrous was, of course, WWI when they declared war against the Austro-Hungarian Empire to protect the Serbs. There is a close relationship there between Russia and Serbia, we ignore it to our peril and we better think about involving the Russians in a potential ground war in the Balkans over a bunch of Kosovars that will turn on us anyway sooner or later. Anyone who thinks Russia isn’t a formidable enemy is living in dreamland. They now have most of the best of our technology and to nullify Europe all they have to do is turn off the supply of natural gas.

So are Americans going to die in the Balkans? The EU sure as heck won’t try to keep them apart from each other. They will stand around peeing in their pants. Who is left? I say let the Russians handle it. They have much more interest there anyway.

In the end, if we are so darned anxious to protect minorities that have been badly treated and faced with genocide we need to start right here at home. What about the Native Americans? The latest horror story that has come to light is the issue of the billions that were stolen from different tribal groups with the connivance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Does anyone think, maybe, that would be a good place to start? I sure do. We need to try and make right our own sins first.
