Again, it has been too long since I have written anything here. Coping with family illnesses and remodeling the kitchen have taken all my energy. But, the kitchen is done now and illnesses are on the mend. October has been a LONG month! And now it is finally the day of the election and I have to say this has been the most awful election season I have ever experienced.
Again, the question arises in my mind as to what will be my response to a probable Obama election win. My first reaction will be to blame the feckless Republican majority that misruled in Congress from 2000 to 2006, looking to line their own pockets instead of standing for the kind of good government and fiscal responsibility that they promised and who were so afraid of the Democrat minority that they caved in every time a filibuster was promised. Then I will blame an inarticulate president who failed to reign in the excesses of his own party and who failed to stand up and fight back against a poisonous left wing press that set about to destroy him as soon as he took office. I will not blame John McCain and Sarah Palin who have fought valiantly against the toughest odds any presidential candidate team has encountered since the McGovern campaign in 1972. The financial meltdown has probably doomed their campaign.
Again, tomorrow will be a new day but I fear it will be the first day of the slow death of democracy in this nation because the fanatical left wing supporters of Barak Obama do not believe in freedom.
