A baregrass is what we in eastern New Mexico call a yucca which is our state plant. It’s leaves are very sharp on the end and it burns like crazy when you get stuck with them. It is a fitting plant for New Mexico. This blog deals with aspects of New Mexico especially the east side, which the rest of the state calls “Little Texas” and sometimes doesn’t recognize as part of the state of New Mexico.
